The following comments were made in Franks Grave information
The life history of Frank Duzick has been shrouded in secrecy so the details may be incorrect.
It is believe that he was born in Yugoslavia and arrived in the United States as a babe in arms.
It is believed that he was the illegitimate son of a professor who taught at a university in Warsaw, Poland. His mother was a very young mother and his last name appears to be his mother’s maiden name. Although, he was raised by his mother, he may have been actually living in his grandparent’s home in Pennsylvania. This is speculated because he referred to several children with the Duzick last name as brothers and sister. Those people included Thomas, Stephen, Joseph, and Mary Duzick. They may in reality have been uncles and aunt to Frank. Another possibility is that they were cousins. Frank’s “father” or as we might speculate, grandfather or uncle, may have been born in Hungary.
The following information has been documented: he married Ethel Mae Conn in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1920 and they became the parents of two sons, Frank 1921 and Robert 1930. He obtained a Social Security Card (365-10-4157)in Michigan. He worked in construction as a carpenter during the Great Depression and often could not find work. Since there was no money for food, the family often had to stay in homes of his in-laws such as the West family. Frank and his wife can be found on the Detroit census in 1940
Eventually, Frank and his wife Ethel Mae moved to Pennsylvania and settled in Coudersport. They divorced in the early 1950’s and she died in 1955.
Several years later he moved down to Florida and he died about two days before his 87th birthday.
Comments by Gary Dusick: The above writing is kind of accurate. Old census records in a few places state that Frank is a nephew to Thomas Dudzik Duzick. The Thomas Jr., Joseph, Stephen, and Mary would have been Frank’s cousins. Thomas Dudzik who was Thomas Dudzik Duzicks father was married to Maria Kiss. They had three other sons, Joannes, Paulus, and Ignack. Frank could have been the son of either one. Or the son of Julia and her first husband Paul Seich. Julia and Paul were married in 1889. Frank was born in 1890. Plus, Thomas and his first wife Mary had Anna on 21 Jan. 1890 and Frank was born 10 May 1890. Can’t have two kids 4 months apart.
Frank in 1900 Census says he is 10 years old and son of Thomas. Frank in 1910 Census says he is 20 years old and immigrated from Slovakia in 1902. So he came to the United States when he was 12 years old. My best guess is that Frank was Julia’s son by Paul Seich.
